Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Yes, weight loss is a must with PCOD, as it will impact your cycles positively.
Right now, please restart Duphaston.
IF 10 mg twice a day does not stop the bleeding in a couple of days, make it 10 mg three times a day, until you are back from the travel, and can see your doctor again.
Such bleeding is not normal, even for PCOD.
You might need to take 3 - 6 cycles of cyclical progesterone therapy to regulate periods.
A diagnostic D and C may be done to obtain a sample of the lining of the uterus, to check if you are having abnormal thickening of the lining ( endometrial hyperplasia ).
Also, make sure that you get an OGTT ( oral glucose tolerance test ) done, and other relevant tests.
I am listing them out - OGTT, TSH, FSH, LH, Prolactin, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid Profile and transvaginal ultrasound scan on day 2 of your cycle.
Also, a Pap smear.
Let me know if these tests are done, and when you can, upload the results.
Hope the Duphaston works in controlling the bleeding right now.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
