Hello,

Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring. Normally, papaya would not cause such great trouble.

However, I think what you mean is acidity ( heartburn ) - feeling of burning or ' jalan ' right inside the stomach. As the woman is one and a half months pregnant, you can use an antacid such as " Gelusil ".

That would provide relief, if not, then take a tablet of Pantop - D or Rantac.

However, common lifestyle alterations will prevent the need to take such tablets in the future. First, is to take small frequent meals, instead of 2 - 3 big meals a day. The pregnant woman has reduced stomach capacity, so its best to take light meals every 2 - 3 hours.

Stick to simple, non spicy, non greasy homemade foods and avoid eating outside.

Do not eat dinner late at night, keep a gap of atleast 3 hours between dinner and sleeping time. If hungry after dinner, you can take a glass of chilled milk.

Do not sleep totally supine, prop yourself up with a pillow or two to avoid heartburn and reflux.

Take care, and please feel free to discuss further.

Regards
