Hi Thanks for writing to us.
First I shall describe in brief about a breast mass. A breast mass can be of benign or malignant origin. The benign masses can be of
Fibroadenomas.-smooth benign fluid filled sacs that change in size and shape with every menstrual cycle. Common in 30-50 year old females.
Fibrocystic disease-Movable hard/firm masses usually superficial and can be felt with bare hands.
Pseudolumps-hard movable or immovable masses formed due to hardened silicone or dead fat. Common in women who undergo breast surgery or injury to the breast.
A malignant breast disease is always lethal and requires immediate attention. The breast mass Is usually irregular, mobile or immobile , firm or hard in consistency.
Coming to the symptoms that you have described, a Peudopolyp fits into the picture. But to be diagnosed properly some more details like the appearance and changes in the mass all these years ,its association with your cycles, your family history etc., need to be known .If it has some association with your cycles and firm in consistency then it could be fibrocystic disease. It is recommended to consult a physician for physical examination and get an ultrasound and/or mammography done on his/her advise.
Hope this helps.
