Resolved question:
I have this red bump on the inside of my right eye. I use drops for it and that makes it less noticeable but it never goes away. It'll come back more red after a few days. I'm 15 and have had this for 5 years. What is it?

Hello, and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query. The red bump you have could be just a pinguecula from what you have described. It is a clear growth of thin tissue and is nothing to worry about.
As you have said the bump does remain but the redness comes and goes as the pinguecula gets inflamed.
Usually no treatment is required. Keeping the eye moist with artificial tears will help in preventing it get inflamed.
My advise would be , keep the eye well lubricated, wear good quality sunglasses, and avoid any irritants to the eye.
Hope this has helped. Feel free to follow up.
Thankyou.
Will this ever go away? Because I have had it for a long time. And I just want the redness to stop so my eyes look normal
Hello, the bump usually never goes. However it can be excised for cosmetic purpose or for your comfort. The usual indication for excision of it, is if it grows in size and grows onto the cornea. But usually excision is rarely required.
As and when your eyes appear to be getting red you need to put the eye drops to stop or control the redness.
Hope this has helped.
Thankyou.
