Resolved question:
In May, 2014, I was admitted to hospital for suspect appendicitis. Symptoms were pain in the lower right side of stomach, started off mild and progressively got worse, didn't feel like eating and had a mild temperature of about 100.4 degrees. Shortly after I was admitted for observation the pain was gone but it was still sore to press down on that area. There was no resting pain at all, just sore to press down. I was given an IV drip for fluids and also an antibiotic drip as my blood test showed an elevated white blood cell count. I also gave a urine sample, which came back fine. When I woke up the next day, there was less pain in that area to press down then there was the night before. I was still being monitored and gained my appetite back and started eating. There was some discomfort sitting down or moving but it wasn't bad pain at all. When I would urinate it would be more painful until my bladder was empty, there seemed to been even less pain after I finished then there usually is. I had to stay in hospital for another night, the next day I spoke to the surgeon and she said shes happy to let me go home as the pain was basically gone by the second day. I was given a script of Amoxicillin and 2 days off work.
About 4 months later in September 2014 I woke up early in the morning with the same pain. I didn't think much of it this time because I was pretty tired still and was going in and out of sleep for about 4 hours and the pain wasn't bothering me too much. Once the pain was gone, again it was still sore to press down on the area (bottom right of abdomen) for a few days, but NO resting pain at all. After about 3 days the pain was completely gone.
On January 2, 2015, I was at work when the pain came back. Starting off as mild and gradually got worse. I was sent home and rested for a few hours to see if the pain would go away. I went to hospital about 3 hours later because the pain was becoming very uncomfortable. Before doing so, I went to the bathroom to urinate and this seemed to relieve the pain quite a lot. Still in a lot of discomfort I went to the hospital. Upon being admitted to the ER straight away, the pain disappeared completely and was left with the mild pain when you were to press down on the area. I didn't have an elevated temperature this time and my blood work and urine test came back completely normal. After the doctor examined me, I explained to him that his has been the third time this has happened with the same outcome every time. Painful to begin with for the first few hours and disappears on its own with mild pain for a few days. He suggested it could be mild appendicitis and that I should talk to my normal doctor about having my appendix removed as this has been the third time its happened. They sent me home and I ate some dinner and went to bed.
A few weeks later I spoke to my doctor who ordered some blood tests and did a urine test on the spot which reveled there was a lot of protein in my urine. She said this could just be from going to the gym, which I do 3-4 times per week. She also ordered an ultrasound to see if anything could be found. Blood tests came back fine again and they couldn't even find my appendix in the ultrasound. My doctor said that I could opt to have my appendix out if this continues to happen but theres no real proof that thats what it is. She ordered another urine test to send away and would ring me if there was anything to tell me, she never rang so I guess it was fine. I left in the hope that this would never happen again.
Two days ago (June 20) I woke up with the SAME THING and just waited in bed until it went away again which it did. I was really hungry so I had some breakfast and went back to bed to wait for the pain to go away. At about 9am I felt fine got up and had a shower and just had that lingering cramping pain when I pressed down. Today I feel completely fine but am just getting frustrated about this because no one seems to know what this could be. If it is appendicitis I don't really have any other symptoms besides the pain, which isn't as bad as its supposed to be (according to google) when the pain is present I can still walk around without it getting worse. So I'm just writing this to you in the hope you have some suggestions or ANYTHING would be helpful. I'll just add too, the second time I went to hospital the doctor did a testicle examination as he suspected it may be tortion of the testicle. But that was all fine.
