Hi,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.
I can understand your discomfort on account of leg pain, and the anxiety of having ALS or some other serious neurological illness. However, I would like to reassure that your symptoms are not suggestive of ALS, and a normal EMG earlier is also reassuring.
The possible causes of pain in legs could be a peripheral neuropathy (due to vitamin B12 deficiency). I presume you have no diabetes or thyroid problems, which could also cause peripheral neuropathy.
Other cause could be restless legs syndrome, symptoms occur mostly at night, but can also occur in day time.
Finally, vitamin D deficiency should also be ruled out.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you have any more queries.
Best wishes,
Dr. Sudhir Kumar MD (Medicine), DM (Neurology)

I forgot to say I was diagnosed with low vit d last year it was 17
Thank you for getting back.
Vitamin D deficiency would be partly responsible for your symptoms such as leg cramps, pain, fatigue, weakness, etc. So, if it is still low, you could take vitamin D supplements and get it corrected.
