Hello,

Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

From what I can see, I do not notice any major abnormality in the tissue shown. There are no spots, lesions, inflammation or discharge seen that require any treatment or concern.

I would make note that the mucosa is slightly pale and there is some yellow discoloration. You might be a little anemic and this could be for a number of reasons, such as diet, chronic infection, etc. There could be a couple of reasons for the yellow discoloration including jaundice or increased bacterial production in the mouth. However, if you are not experiencing other symptoms of liver dysfunction then you probably do not have liver disease and this is not jaundice.

The latter is a benign condition in which yellow discoloration of mucosa could lead to black hairy tongue which are both harmless and do not require any treatment. Simple oral hygeine, including brushing, flossing, using mouthwash, etc daily can help the bacteria die out in about 10 days and should be done regularly as a long term solution.

I hope this helps. Please ask any follow up questions if any. Take care and be well.
