Resolved question:
Hi there
I have been travelling a lot recently
Perhaps 10 flights, some 8/9 hours long in the last 3 weeks
I am home now and not due to fly until next weekend
I had a nosebleed but lasted only a very short while
I am concerned mostly about my eyes
Redness I understand is normal but I have developed several wavy lines and would like an opinion on them
My blood pressure is slightly raised usually around 130/85 or 130/90
Look forward to hearing from you

Hello,
The nosebleed is nothing to be worried about as it could be due to pressure difference and ascend in air travel.
However the wavy lines are indeed a concern. This could be a normal phenomenon but it can be a symptom of an inner eye (macular ) disorder. You will need to see an Ophthalmologist , & get an amsler test , followed by an OCT if something suspicious is there. Better not to take any chances, so I recommend evaluation asap.
Hope this helps
Thank you
Thanks for your reply. I saw an optician a few weeks ago who mentioned that a photograph of the back of my eye showed a wavy line which perhaps indicated blood pressure issues.
I am often tired and regularly have muscular chest pain.
I am not sure if it is anxiety related but seeing red/wavy lines on my eyes is frightening me.
However my eyes / vision show no pain or blurry
At what point are red eyes a problem?
Hello,
There seems to be some tech problem and I my answer didn't went through. Apologies for the delay.
The wavy lines are because of a macular problem, the macula is far behind , macular problems can cause blurred vision / lines to be wavy & sometimes blindness. As said before also you need to see an ophthalmologist & not an optician , hope i am clear.
Regards.
