LAMN in histopathology report after LAPROSCOPIC APPENDICECTOMY. MALIGNANT?

Resolved Question:

Hello,

Present situation:
------------------
My brother-in-law, Sanjoy Bhattacharya, Male, Age 41 yrs had a lower abdomen pain(for 2-3 days) followed by investigation(Abdomen screening on 05/04) and eventually with an "Laproscopic Appendicectomy" on 06/04/2015.
After 7 days of operation, he went for a follow-up checkup followed by histopathology on 24/04, CT-scan(whole abdomen) on 30/04.
From the reports, Doctors have found LAMN( I think, a kind of a malignant tumour). They asked him to visit after 3 months with CECT abdomen report. Until then, nothing is prescribed by the doctors.

Past history:
-------------
Nothing significant but on medicine for Hypertension

Now, I need a 2nd opinion/feedback from you. I am uploading all the reports/prescriptions.

Sincere Thanks.
Mithun

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
This is a rare presentation. Kindly consult a surgical oncologist for opinion regarding HIPEC therapy.
This low grade mucinous tumor may have a long term propensity for peritoneal recurrence. Also spillage cannot be ruled out during laparascopic procedure. Your doctor is right in asking to repeat the CECT, but it is better you discuss the option of HIPEC with a surgical oncologist.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
