Kidney stone, dilated ureter in ULTRASOUND. Treatment.

Resolved Question:

Hello!

Yesterday I went to the doctor for a regular check-up and got seriously scared away with the results. I was passed on to the urologist but since it is quite scary, I wanted to talk to somebody for further information.

During the sonography I was found the following (hope I can translate it more or less accurately). Kidneys: shape, size, structure of the norm, in the right upper part a stone of 3-4mm. The left kidney renal cup enlarged. Ureter could be observed in upper and mid third part in width up to 7 mm.

Is this the indicative of cancer?

I have had for years stones in both kidneys with no problems at all. I had a CT scan 5 months ago for another reason and then all the kidneys were all fine. Just the 4 mm stone in the upper right kidney and a 8 mm one in the left lower kidney.

Now the left one has somehow disappeared. Could there be any connection between this 8 mm stone and the new find of the left kidney in the ultrasound?

I do not have sharp pains what I understand is common when the stones are moving. However a few nights I have had a discomfort in lower abdomen around the pelvic area and somewhat mild discomfort on the left and at the back. Nothing unbearably though, certainly can not be called as pain.

I could not change the data below which is wrong. I am 40 and male and the two references are not connected with this question.

With best regards
Kaido

Hello,
Thank you for posting your medical query to DoctorSpring.com
Burning sensation when you urinate is most commonly a sign of a urinary tract infection though the only way to determine it with certainity would be to have a urine sample sent for urinalysis and for culture. Once you receive a report, kindly upload it and we can determine appropriate management (antibiotic and urinary analgesic) should this be from a UTI.
Additionally, kindly provide the following details:
your age and gender.
do you experience any of the following? A fever (measured by a thermometer), pain in front of the back portion of your abdomen, nausea, vomitting , foul smelling or bloody urine or genital discharge? A history of kindey stone?
do you have any pre-exisitng medical conditions I should be aware of? Are you currently on any medications?
In the meanwhile, drink plenty of fluids (water or cranberry juice)
I look forward to your reply,
