Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
I have discussed your consult with our team Dermatologist .
WE would like to know some additional details from you so that we can provide our best and learned opinion.
1. Do you get these itchings in the night only ? What about day times ?
2. Do have itching on all the days ? For example if you are out on a trip (not sleeping at your home), do you still get it?
3.Have you tired any medications?
You can reply as a followup
Thank you
Patient replied :
I itch 24/7, but it is worse at night. This could be because I am not doing other distracting things. It happens everyday, all day, at home or away.
I tried novo-hydroxyzin 25 mg, as well as emo-cort 2.5%. Neither of these had any effect.
Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of a condition called Brachioradial pruritus.
This is one possibility to consider. BUT do note other possibilities are there. Topical capsaicin led to improvement in itching. You should discuss this option with your Dermatologist. First line options for oral therapy in patients who do not respond to local therapies include gabapentin and pregabalin. First I would recommend you to give Capsaicin cream a try.
Hope this helps
