Hi doctor, I am really worried about the worst situation I am in. I was having a long term relationship with a man, for the past 12 years. I was sincere to him and used to have sex with him regularly. But about a week ago, due to some devilish temptation, I slept with another guy, cheating my trusted partner, who was with me for 12 long years. The new one I slept with has got genital warts which he says that is due to HPV infection. But he started treating it medically, a year ago. Is there a chance that I may get infected from him? I am very much worried about this, as it can ruin my long term sincere relationship. I don’t wish to inform this thing to my partner. He is already having some doubts as I refrain from sex for a week or so. Please help me cope up with the situation as soon as possible. My partner is sincere to me and I don’t think he might have relationships with anyone else. So, I sincerely do not wish to transmit the virus to him, if I am already being infected. Please help me.
