Resolved question:
How do I get rid of hardened raised skin left over after a 5 week long allergy contact dermatitis. Note that the allergic reaction had to be mitigated with a 16- day prednisone therapy.

This hardened skin indicates that there is still activity in the lesions. I would recommend application of a prescription strength steroid cream like mometasone furoate cream to be applied twice a day for two weeks.
In case of itching, you can take an anti histamine like claritin.
This should help resolve your concern. In case it doesn't start subsiding in a week, it's best to visit your doctor so he can physically examine you and opine.
