Hello,
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern. Firstly, my apologies for the delay with the reply on account of person issues.
Answering your questions,
The lab reports are all in the normal range.
FSH levels higher than 10 portend poor ovarian reserve, yours are fine.
What is your age ?
Women with PCOS have a high ovarian reserve, so don't worry.
Since how long have you been trying for a child ?
The best indicator of ovarian reserve is AMH levels and pelvic ultrasound ( counting egg follicles ) on day 2 of your cycle.
Hope this helps you.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Patient replied :
I am 29. We are just starting to try and got initial blood work to see how I'm doing. My concern was the estradiol at 80. From what I've read, ideally estradiol should be under 80, as it can mask an elevated FSH level. Is that correct? Would 80 be in that concerning range? Should I ask for any further follow up (AMH etc.)?
Ideally they should be less than 80 ( and you have not mentioned the units, I would prefer if you could upload the actual reports ).
But this is borderline
But the best indicator is AMH and a scan on day 2 of cycle.
So please request that, to measure the ovarian reserve.
If you are overweight, please try and aim at an ideal weight, as it is essential for PCOS control.
Take care.
