sir, i had an accident three months back in which i had head injury with comminited:internally compound frontal with rt.orbital wall/root and nasal bone comminuited with d/e rt.radius.After a month when i opened my rt eye there was double vision, with less vision and a blind spot in middle.ophthalmologist diagnosed me with traumatic retrobulbar optic nueritis.another ophthalmologist told to have oct and then looking at the reports he told me that iam going to have that scotoma for ever as it was due to injury in retina. now its been 2 months iam on steriods as priscribed by the first one. please do tell me what to do. will i be able to see like before?

Post trauma optic neuritis can be there which can be a cause of reduced vision , but if you have double vision , this can be because of luxation of globe , which has to be seen & commented , as you have mentioned about orbital / frontal # es also .
I would suggest to physically consult a occuloplasty surgeon.

In such cases , it is very difficult to get back normal vision , & I am sorry for that as their are not much options available. However you should work closely with your Doctor as we cannot be just sure about a diagnosis.

Dear Sir,
As I had already mentioned that there are not much options available , scotomas once formed one has to live with it, they might reduce in intensity or size but not necessary that they will vanish / reduce.
