Resolved question:
I've taken this blood test since I was trying very hard to lose weight and wanted to check if I have either hormone imbalance or pcos as my gynee gave me the metformin in order to lose weight, but to be honest I did not see any results apart from the fact that they were lowering my blood sugar levels.
Can you kindly explain to me the blood test results please and tell me if I need to take anything.
Regards
Marilou

Dear Marilou,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Your blood test results are fine, no hormonal imbalance.
PCOS is not just diagnosed by the blood tests.
If you have any 2 of the following 3 , you have PCOS -
1. Symptoms - irregular and delayed cycles, unexplained weight gain, hair growth on the chin, face etc, darkening of the axilla, nape of the neck etc.
2. Polycystic ovaries seen on pelvic ultrasound scan.
3. Positive blood tests.
So you are symptomatic, now you need to have a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan on day 2 of your cycles.
Please get that done.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
