Dear doctor, I am facing a peculiar situation which is frustrating too. I am a 34 years old male. I was married and later divorced, about 2 years ago. But I started getting some symptoms of HPV infection in the form of genital warts, about 4 years ago. It was not so aggressive but some 2 or 3 warts in total in my genital area. Now it has become somewhat more aggressive, as I started another affair. I am sure that the first outbreak was occurred when I was with my ex wife. I discussed my doubt regarding this, to her. But she simply refused later that she underwent tests for HPV and it turned negative. But how come it is possible? Is she lying to me, or can HPV virus stay undetectable in tests? Can anyone get completely immune against getting affected even after having sex with affected partners? Please clarify.
