Allegra is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine is the chemical responsible for sneezing, itching, watery eyes and runny nose. Generically, it is Fexofenadine. It is used to treat both in adults and children in Hay fever, Chronic idiopathic urticarial and hives.
If any person wants to take Allegra he should inform the doctor whether there is any history of Allergy to any drugs or kidney disease and also should not be taken with fruit juice. Also you should tell your doctor whether you are pregnant or not. Still there are lots of doubts whether this does harm the unborn baby or not. Usually this drug can be taken with a full glass of water. Do not swallow the tablet. Instead you should allow the Tablet to dissolve inside the mouth without chewing. If you overdose, you might get dry mouth, drowsiness, and dizziness. If you have your breakfast and immediately take Allegra, there may be a chance of getting sick. Usually you should take the Tablet at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. You should be careful if you are on Ketoconazole or Erythromycin. Hope this helps.
