As mesh is a foreign material and is non-absorbable(does not dissolve), tough fibrous tissue will be formed around it in course of time to strengthen the area.
There may be some amount of discomfort due to mesh post-surgery.
Another common problem which can occur after hernia surgery is recurrence. However, chances of recurrence are rare with mesh repair.
I request you to consult your surgeon and get an abdominal examination done. You can ask for an Ultrasound abdomen for any possible recurrence.
While lying down, you should not be in same position for long time. You should change sides and position after half an hour or 1 hour.
I prescribe skeletal muscle relaxant tablet which contains chlorzoxazone to my patients with similar complaints. You can take these under the care of your doctor for relief from the discomfort.
