Resolved question:
I am worried at the moment about a problem I have. I have not been pregnant for almost 9 yrs now and have had a tubulisation operation 18 months ago. I had this done while having a routine operation to remove a benign cyst on one of my ovaries. I also have had my gall bladder out and a few other operations for minor things.
what I am worried about is my stomach is very distended and enlarged and very hard to touch. the right side is tender to touch the upper part of my stomach and not lower where if there was a pregnancy I would imagine that would be hard and distended there. I am scared because my stomach should not be that hard there. I am overweight but have been before the stomach became enlarged and I feel tireder than normal and my appetite has increased lately.
I need someone's opinion as to what could be going on. my partner felt my tummy and keeps looking at me and thinking I am pregnant. also my libido has increased lately which has always been steady. it is embarrassing in some ways but I am so scared as to what is going on. half of me thinks maybe I could be pregnant but the other half says no way can I be. It has been known to happen after tubulisation. I don't want to run to a doctor and discover that it is just worry for nothing

You have not mentioned about the pattern of your periods.If you HAVE skipped a period, then take a pregnancy test, that will easily exclude or tell you about a pregnancy.
If you have abnormal cycles, then a blood HCG pregnancy test or a pelvic ultrasound performed transvaginally will tell you about a pregnancy even more clearly.
It will also exclude an ovarian cyst , or a pelvic infection, that could sometimes cause such pain ( although the pain would not be high up )
Having had a gall bladder issue earlier, then there could be some recurrent pathology in the liver or gall bladder area that could cause such tenderness and bloating of the upper right part of the abdomen.
Unusually, bowel or appendix related problems also can present this way.
I would recommend a visit to your GP, alongwith complete abdominal and pelvic ultrasound and a blood work panel ( complete blood count, thyroid test, liver and renal functions , lipid profile ) to assure you that all is well.
Following gall bladder surgery, sometimes such tenderness occurs due to adhesions after the surgery, and then you need not worry.
Schedule an appointment when you can, as there is no emergency.
