I have a long history of what doctors have called a bacterial prostate infection. I have been off and on Cipro for almost 3 years. On 6/19/25 I was given a cystoscopy and told my prostate was slightly enlarged, that I had a stricture and that there was a small blockage. I was told after the procedure that my urine stream would be greatly improved but I am not sure what the doctor did to make that statement. Urination following the procedure was very bloody for the first couple of days and extremely painful. The plain started to get better by 7 but changed from burning during and right after urination to feeling very slight burning during and constant itching after urination that last hours. I have been on Cipro 500 mg twice a day for the past 2 months. I called the doctors office but the nurse keep insisting that it's normal and takes 7-10 days to resolve. Is this in fact normal or could I have an infection that is resistant to Cipro?
