Resolved question:
For the last two months or so I've been having this dull persistent discomfort in the left/middle part of my chest. It isn't a sharp pain and it isn't there all the time, but it's often and noticeable enough to be bothersome.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago to get checked out, and my EKG and chest x-ray were normal. My Cholesterol is a little high, but not too bad at 264.
I'm a fit 24 year old male with no history of heart problems.
Should I be worried? What could it be? Thanks in advance!

I understand your concern.
Since the EKG is normal, this does not seem to be cardiac related, however, I will still advise you to get a ECHO done which can study about the structure of valves and give us a better insight.
Such persistent pain could be muscle related or could even be costochondritis, where the ribs get inflamed. Have you tried any medications till now? Also, what is your height and weight?
Have you checked your BP recently?

To answer your questions, I haven't tried any medications aside from Advil, which seems to work temporarily sometimes (though not all the time). I'm 6 feet tall and weigh about 190 lbs. I'm healthy, never smoke and only drink occasionally, but not particularly in shape ( I don't exercise much outside of walking to work and jogging).
When I visisted my physician last, my blood pressure was completely normal and in his words "excellent".
Also, I don't know if this helps you or not, but I've also been having what feels similar to a pinched nerve perfectly alligned to my chest discomfort in my back essentially the entire time. could this somehow be causing some kind of muscular pain in my chest? The pain doesn't radiate into my arms or anything scary like that either.
Sorry to dump so much information on you, but any insight you can offer is greatly appreciated! I will also look into an ECHO exam shortly.

Pinched nerve at the back won't cause any muscular pain in the chest.
Rather there can be symptoms like numbness in the peripheries, fingers, e.t.c
With BP being normal, and ECG fine, there is definitely nothing sinister. Could just be muscle spasm, for some people, it becomes chronic.
Kindly get a CT Thorax done, which will help in ruling out costochondritis.
