Resolved question:
My wife has shortness of breath and sometime dull pain in chest. Took her to ER yesterday, but the bloodwork was normal and she could do upto level1 stress test. During the stress test her BP reached 160. She still feels the pain and breathlessness. Any reason?. She is 52 years, non smoker, non drinker, vegetarian and not obese. She is from India and her brother (clean habits- regularly exercises) had By-pass surgery 5 years ago at the age of 49.
Thanks for your response

Hello,
Thank you for your query at doctorspring.com
She reached level 1 of stress test. That is very low exercise level. May I know, why couldn't she exercise further? Was it due to breathlessness? Or chest pain? Was the target heart rate achieved? Till how many METs coukd she exercise.
Please provide the above details of the stress test.
Regarding her symptoms,
Is her chest pain and breathlessness on exertion or even at rest?
Is she hypertensive diabetic?
Has she had a lipid profile done?
Also kindly get a 2D echo done for her along with hemogram to rule out other causes of breathlessness
I will require these additional information to give you a solid opinion. You can reply as a followup question.
Thank you
Regards
