Dull ache, swelling in penis with negative STD tests.

Resolved Question:

Hi there,

I wonder if you can help me. I have for a week now been experiencing some discomfort in my penis, it has started to feel a bit better now. It started feeling like a dull ache and a little swollen or stiff to the touch (not erect), and it feels like there is a little bit of urine left in the urethra after I pee. I went straight to my local GUM clinic and got tested, also being paranoid I paid for a 24 test through an accredited online service, both of which came back negative. I also saw a doctor who said that none of my symptoms sounded like any STD and that it's probably in my head.

As I said, it's now a week later and whilst my penis feels more comfortable I am still experiencing a feeling that urine is stuck on my urethra, sometimes it feels like it has leaked but when I check it it seems dry. Because I have been worrying about chlamydia I was treated by an online pharamcy and given 1000mg of azithromycin which I took 2 days ago. The same day I masturbated and I believe the antibiotics didn't agree with me as it gave me a few loose stools, after the first loose stool I noticed what I would normally deem as pre ejaculate/post ejaculate dripping from my penis and also a little more later on after I passed urine. Was this a result of the masturbation?

I have also noticed that past 2 mornings (when I wake up with an erection) that some pre-ejaculate comes out after I pee for the first time and maybe a little an hour later, but then none for the rest of the day. I can also noticed a light ache occasionally from my penis right the way down between my anus and my testicles (possibly my prostate?)

I am worrying alot (as I am sure you can tell) as I have convinced myself that I have an STD, I did have sex with someone who wasn't my usual partner twice, the first 4 weeks ago today and the second 2 1/2 weeks ago today. The sex was protected but the oral sex was not. He assured me he was clean and the fact my test results came back Negative shows me that this is probably the case.

Sorry for the long message!

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I can understand your concern.

Based on your symptoms i would suggest that it doesn't seem like a std but an issue with passing urine as you mentioned dribbling and feeling of incomplete passage of urine.

My recommendation would be to visit a urologist for the same. Also the pre ejaculate that you mentioned could be sent for testing after consultation with the urologist. In case he feels it is actually a discharge . That is just to be on the safer side, in order to rule out gonorrhoea though all your reports have come negative.

Please let me know if you have any queries.
Take care

Thank you for your response. I don't see. To have had any 'discharge' for 2 days now so I'm thinking it may well have been pre-ejaculate. I have been reading a lot about CP/CPPS, could it be an issue with my prostate? The head of my penis also feels cold when anything else touches it which is why I often think I'm 'leaking' in my underpants. I have been tested twice for gonorrhoea and both negative. I have had 1 or 2 similar instances such as this over the past 10-15 years, not usually as long but the same feeling of urine in my urethra and discomfort. I have been stressing myself out about the STD possibility but could this itself be brought on my stress?

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

Your symptoms don't suggest a std but an issue with passing urine. It could be an issue with the prostate but meeting a urologist would be the right step to take. Stress could also induce it.

Take care and please try to reduce the stress.
