Hello, There are various drug regimens that are used for treatment of chlamydia. From the number of drugs that your doctor has prescribed you, it seems like a single day regimen. Single day regimen is taken with 4 tablets of 500 mg each. I would recommend the following- 1) Avoid having oral anal or vaginal sex for up to 2 weeks after treatment to prevent infection in your partner. Chlamydia is very resistant in males and does not produce symptoms. This can cause recurrence of infection in you. 2) Monitor your temperature regularly .If the temperature hovers around 102 F consider switching antibiotics to Tab. Clindamycin and tab. Cefepime. 3) Prompt treatment is required as it may cause long term sequel like infertility. 4) Vaginal douching might help the vaginal irritation but the urinary and rectal irritation subsides on treatment of PID. 5) Tab. Dicylomine can be used to reduce uterine cramps. Thank you.
