Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
From your description, it seems like pre ejaculate, or the excitatory fluid which is a very normal occurence.
Any kind of sexual or excitatory thoughts will induce the formation of pre ejaculate, and it will come out in form of tiny drops.
This happend more so in the morning hours, since there is always a testosterone surge early in the morning.
I will reassure this is absolutely normal.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
Patient replied :
How is that possible if no erection exists before or after ? Pre-ejaculation fluid only occurs upon arousal for intercourse and this is not the case here ?
If it were this pre-ejaculation fluid, is this considered semen or different composition-type of fluid ?
Thank You.
Hello,
The erections happen in the wee hours of the morning.
Most people are not even aware of them getting an erection while they are sleeping. It is a natural physiological phenomenon. It is not necessary that when you wake up you have to have the erection too. It can happen in deep sleep and mostly it is difficult to be aware of the erection.
As i mentioned in my previous post, it is extremely normal to have excitatory thoughts whil the person is in deep sleep, and a lof of people have woken up with such tiny dried spots in their underwear.
The only other possibility is urethral discharge but that happens in Gonorrhoea, a STI.
In your case there is no such possibility, and i once again assure you it is normal.
Let me know if you have any other queries,
Regards.
Patient replied :
Hello Again,
1) Is it Semen or not ?
2) Can it happen when becoming excited or passionate about something else like an academic idea or music without any mating-arousal involved ?
Hello,
It is not exactly semen, it is known as Cowper's fluid or pre ejaculatory fluid, and the best description would be a clear, colorless, viscous fluid, which is secreted when there are sexual thoughts.
And no this only gets secreted with sexual thoughts. Not when there is any thoughts of academic music involved.
Regards.
Patient replied :
Why do you say "Not Exactly" ?
what are best practices for not having omission at night (wet dreams...) ?
Not exactly because the pre ejaculatory fluid is a very controversial topic.
Some studies claim that even a drop of pre ejaculate can make a woman pregnant. But nothing such has till now been recorded. Pre ejaculatory fluid, though resembling semen, does not contain viable sperms.
Hence the difference.
Also wet dreams are natural in those who are not sexually active or those who masturbate at least twice a week.
In case you are not married and also don't induldge in masturbation, you can start masturbating since it is a healthy process. 2-3 times a week will let the old semen come out, and sperm production will be enhanced.
There is no real practise of controlling it if it happens once in a while. But if it keeps happening every night with masturbation then we need to intervene.
Regards.
