Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I would not worry about endometrial cancer at your age, but yes, investigation is warranted, as post coital bleeding is a worrisome symptom.
THe reasons can include - a polyp, cervical lesion or growth or cervical erosion.
You should be having an internal exam by a Specialist OB - GYN, Pap smear ( when you are not bleeding ), and a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan.
I am also sure that it is not an STD, since you have no other symptoms such as pain during sex, itching, foul smelling discharge, tenderness etc.
It is further more abnormal to have such bleeding while on birth control.
Have you ever had such symptoms earlier ?
Since how long are you on the birth control ?
Do you smoke ?
Needless to say, you are obese, and need to work on weight loss.
All the best.
PLease feel free to discuss further.
Patient replied :
I have had minor bleeding issues during sex before, nothing this heavy though. I have been on birth control since I starting menstrating, around 13-14 years old patientold. I was using it to help with severe periods- heavy bleeding, migraines, awful cramping.. etc. I have never smoked in my life, and do not drink alcohol frequently.
Yes, I am aware that my BMI indicates I am obese, my MD stated that I do not look obese, just overweight. I have been losing weight and have already lost 15 pounds. I am currently working towards losing more by eating right with the correct portions and continung to physical activity daily.
I think this could be a polyp or a cervical lesion.
Have the evaluation done as suggested.
It is great that you are working towards weight loss, ultimately, fitness is what is most important.
Keep me posted on what happens.
Take care.
