Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Did you have an abdominal ultrasound done? That will rule out any liver pathology causing the pain. If possible can you upload all your reports?
Constant belching and heart pounding could be related to GERD, in absence of any liver pathology.
Do you have any history of associated reflux?
Kindly get back to me with the answers.
Regards.
What is gerd? I have had an abdominal ultra sound, I have liver and kidney checks all came back ok, I had a mri scan and one doctor said my bile duct was dilated and there was something there, we were referred to manchester royal hospital were they said there was nothing there, up to the last 6 months I've never had a history of belching but now I do it all the time, and now the ache in my side is there all the time
Hello,
GERD is a reflux disorder where due to enzyme deficiencies, the food is not digested properly leading to reflux of the undigested food along with hyperacidity.
It can almost mimic the pain of an angina, and cause such heart pounding. And is is also associated with bloating and belching.
You need to get an endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis.
Since the ultrasound is normal, it is not related to any other organ and they seem fine.
I will advise you to take a course of Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg once daily for 2 weeks before breakfast.
You can update me after 2 weeks, whether the symptoms are getting better.
Regards,
Dr. Jaydeep
Thank you, would this condition explain the discomfort in my right side and back?
Hello,
Yes, sometimes the pain can spread to the back.
Can you please update me after a week?
If it does not resolve, I can suggest additional tests.
Regards,
Dr. Jay
