Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
Please let me know if your wife has ever missed her periods before, and whether her cycles are always regular or not.
Causes for irregular cycles are - stress, anxiety, travelling, weight gain, change of climate, season or sleeping and dietary habits.
Hypothyroidism if not controlled, polycystic ovaries, endometrial hyperplasia, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts - all these can can cause missed or delayed cycles.
Please consult a gynecologist to have thorough evaluation of her condition.
She needs an internal check up - per vaginum and per speculum. A pelvic ultrasound is a must to rule out the above conditions listed. Basic complete blood count, thyroid hormone profile, prolactin levels, blood sugars, adrenal hormone levels - these should be done.
Also, ovigyn D is prescribed to women with low ovarian reserve. This is when the capacity of the ovaries to produce mature eggs is decreased. This can be tested by measuring a hormone called AMH.
Please let me know why she was prescribed ovigyn D in the previous cycle.
Do write back with further details or any other doubts that you wish to clear.
All the best. Make sure that her weight is in check , and she takes regular folic acid tablets. Take care.

Her periods are regular and of course 28days sharp. She is 5ft 2inches height and is weight is around 70kgs. I'm uploading her reports for the tests done by the doctor, who prescribed oligynD.
Hello,
I have gone through the reports.
If her cycles are regular, then from the reports done so far, I can see NO REASON why she was prescribed Ovigyn D.
Her TSH is also under control with Eltroxin. I would ask you to consult a gynecologist for a second opinion, and have the above mentioned testing done.
Take care.

Hello,
She has her last period on August 16th. When we approached one gynecologist, she prescribed laperoscopy. We've approached another gynecologist on 2nd october she prescribed Susten 200 for 5days and Biofol for 10days, each one tablet per day. Pregnancy test (UPT)taken today is -ve. She missed her period and PT is -ve, we are somewhat worried about this. Please guide us what to be done?
Hello,
If you have been trying to conceive for more than a year, please consult an Infertility Specialist.
Take regular folic acid supplements ( Biofol ) and maintain ideal weight through regular exercise and proper diet.
Next have thorough internal examination and pelvic ultrasound.
Go for complete blood count, FSH , LH, TSH, Prolactin, blood sugar levels, adrenal hormone profile.
Also go for one cycle of follicular monitoring ( serial ultrasound ) to check for ovulation. If ovulation is normal, go for 3 cycles of natural attempts with monitoring ovulation. If they fail, go for 3 - 6 cycles with ovulation induction, alternatively go for laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to check patency of fallopian tubes before attempting stimulation of ovaries.
Right now, please consult a gynecologist, and have a pelvic ultrasound.
If the UPT is negative, then she has missed her periods due to hormonal imbalance, and taking progesterone tablets for 5 days, will result in withdrawal bleeding.
Take care.
