Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
Dear Parent,
I can understand your concern.
Platelet function disorders associated with immunodeficiency can be WISKOTT-ALDRICH syndrome.
Is that what your son has?
Platelet function disorders generally present with bleeding tendencies. Does your son have those as well, an increased tendency to bleed?
Can you please specify what you are referring to as his BSL? Is it his blood sugar levels or lipase or something else? I am not used to that acronym.
What about his growth parameters ? What is his weight/ height for age?
What are his AST/ALT/Bilirubin/Albumin values?
Do you have any family history of such platelet disorders? How many siblings does he have?
Mood swings and liver problems can also be a manifestation of WILSON's disease. Has he been evaluated for the same?
More information regarding his infections, his underlying platelet dysfunction as well as his liver function should help. I would be able to guide you any further only if you can send me all his medical records/reports.
Please upload the same in the follow-up or email to [email protected] mentioning consult ID : 216992 in the subject line.
Awaiting your response.
Regards,
Dr. Saptharishi L G,
Pediatrician.
