Hello Polly,
Yes the source of infection indeed was your gums.
It is difficult to predict whether the infection has cleared up completely, however it does not seem to be the case.
Regarding liquid antibiotics, yes you can take syrup amoxycillin- clavulanic acid combination 2 teaspoons twice daily. It is a good antibiotic for LRTI's.
Regards.

dear dr many thanks for nice letter. but i get the impression you dont believe me that i have a cold watery feeling inside my chest. it is still there i do not think it is anxiety becasue i try to cough it up and white slimy clear looking stuff comes out and it taste like salt. it has been there for 5 months now ever since i got bronchitis. i never had bronchitis before and my lungs were normal and healthy before this happened. i never seated before either but the sweating only started happening 2 months ago. i feel sick like this. i want to get better. i am not a dr so i do not know. i wish it would go away and i returned to normal i was okay before this happened. regards polly
Dear Polly,
I am sorry that your going through such a rough patch with regards to your health.
You mentioned that of the 8 infected teeth, only 5 were removed. Which means the source of infection is still present in your body. It is a possibility that the organism from your teeth travelled in cough or spit while you were sleeping into your lungs and has set up a chronic infection. This is a possibility with aspiration and so I would recommend that you have the remaining 3 teeth removed. Kindly continue the recommended antibiotics to resolve the LRTI and that should get rid of the watery feling in your lungs.
I hope this helps and your health recovers,

Dear DR many thanks for nice letter. i wish it could be easy for me to get the medicine i need when i am sick but it is nt easy for me. they keep sending me around in circles. i finished all the antibiotics about 2 weeks ago . when i went back to the dentist he said the infection was still there even though i ate all the antibiotics when he pulled 5 teeth out it still hurt. he never gave me anymore antibiotics even though he said the infection was still there. he did say he was going to take out 8 teeth but he never. i do not know why. i llook in my gums and the holes have not healed over its been 3 weeks now and my gums llok red and sore inside. and i feel pin in one of them like i have a toothache. i can also feel there is a bit of tooth remaining in one of my gums. the first dentist i seen when i first went there said the bad taste in my mouth was coming from my gums and he said my gums needed cleaning but when i went back the next time they made me see another dentist. yes i beleive you the infection in my chest is becasue of my ad teeth i know have a pain in my ear. i am upset becasue i want to see my sister at christmas we are twins and i am afraid to go into her house in case i gove her a infection i worry becasue she has a llergy to pencillian antibbiotics and i dont want to make her sick. it is upsetting me very much. i am very distraught over it and want to get better and see my sister. thankyou for your advice and help yours sincerely polly
Hello Polly,
I am just very sorry for you Polly.
The dentist needs to review your oral cavity and take a decision soon.
Or else the chest infection will never go.
Regards.

Dear Dr many thanks fr nice letter. becasue my infection has not gone away i am worried i have some sort of super bug. is there any treatment for this as i am worried. my chest feels icy cold inside . i am going to make a apooitment to see a dr again and hope they help me. i am feeling miserable and sad i want to see my twin sister again. tanks for your care and advice yours sincerely polly:(
Hello,
Polly definitely there is treatment but the issue is antibiotics were stopped before your infection cleared up. So that did not help your recovery.
You should see your doctor, and demand the antibiotics because your infection is still there. If he doesn't comply, ask him to explain what is causing the problem then. You have gone to him for treatment anyway.
You will get better once you start antibiotics again.
Regards.
