Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
This does not look like bug bite. It is herpes zoster.Herpes zoster is a viral infection that presents with segmental and clustered vesicles in a distribution of nerve. It can present with severe pain, itching, tingling or pin pricking sensation.
Now to treat the same, I usually prescribe
Tablet valcyclovir 1000mg thrice in a day for seven days. It is an antiviral and is given to decrease viral load. Also it prevents complications of herpes zoster.
Tablet pregablin 75 mg thrice in a day. Pregablin reduces pain. Sometimes oral tramadol tablets have to be added if pain is too severe.
Tablet levocetirizine twice daily to reduce itching.
Mupirocin cream to be applied twice daily over lesions.
Usually the lesions crust and heal in seven to ten days. In some patients complications like severe itching, tingling, pain or scarring may persist even when lesions are gone. Also it has to be kept in mind that its a viral infection caused by the virus that causes chicken pox. So a person who never had chicken pox in life may contract it when being in close contact with a person who has herpes zoster.
I would suggest that you meet a dermatologist nearby as all medicines mentioned above are prescription based and should be taken after doctor's Consultation.
Hope this helped. Should there be a doubt, please write back.
