Chronic pain in right lower quadrant with negative CTs.

Resolved Question:

Hi. I am 32 year old healthy female. I am looking for opinions on a lower right quadrant chronic pain I have. I have had this for the last 3 years old patientand it comes and goes. It lasts 2 days-2 weeks when I get it. The pain is right inside my right hip bone (maybe 1 inch in) and is aching and sore and radiates to my lower right back. When I am having the pain and I push on my abdomen in that spot, it hurts and has some rebound pain. It feels like a deep bruise when I push. Bowel movements/gas don't relieve it. I have had 2 Ct scans during painful episodes and nothing shows up. One time they mentioned I looked "backed up" but I didn't feel constipated and had been having regular bowel movements. I also had an ultrasound and no ovarian cysts/kidney stones. it also happens at various times in my cycle. What could this possibly be? Could it be colon cancer? Would cancer pain come and go like this? IBD? Endometriosis scars? any thoughts on what could act like I am describing? Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
The symptoms that you intermittently experience are very classical for a gall stone or a kidney stone but that has already been ruled out. Please do not worry about cancer, as CT would have shown if there was any sign of malignancy. It is not IBD either, as IBD is associated with mucus and bleeding in the stool. Could be endometriosis, as you say it is related to your cycle, a transvaginal ultrasound can be done for a conclusive diagnosis.
Will you be able to share the CT reports if possible?
Feel free to discuss further.
