Chances of HEPATITIS-B transmitting through sharing drinks.

Resolved question:
my question is about Diseases transmitted through sharing a drink ( namely sharing of a glass), what is one likely to contract from sharing a drink with someone ( not a common practice of mine), as well as how likely these are to occur, when sharing said glass with someone who, on the face of it seems healthy and presents no notable symptoms ( i'm mostly concerned about the more threatening and impacting conditions.... hepatitis B keeps coming back to my concern for some reason). Full disclosure is that I'm a hypochondriac, and simply need to cover my bases as to what to expect and look out for, as far as likely symptoms of the more concerning deseases and cures. thank you for your attention in this matter, Juan Castaneda

Hello Juan,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
As such, sharing drinks with someone has low chances of transmitting infection. However, some infections that can possibly be transmitted is herpes ( very rarely ), if someone has an open sore, and hepatitis a, not b. Hepatitis B is transmitted only through contaminated blood transfusion or through infected needles.
Hope this was helpful,
Feel free to discuss further.

As far as hep a, what should I be looking out for? And what are the worst-case symptoms associated with it?

Normally hep a and hep e are water-borne and can be transmitted through contaminated drinks. But the incidence is low.
So, it is better to avoid sharing drinks with anyone.
Regards.
