Hello.
Thanks for posting your query on DoctorSpring.com.
I can understand your concern.
From the pictures, it seems to be folliculitis. It's caused by bacterial infection of the skin. At times it can be caused by fungal infection too.
If you have tried shaving your hair recently, it could be secondary to that.
I would recommend application of mupirocin cream and clotrimazole cream twice a day for two weeks on the affected area.
It will resolve with the creams.
In case it doesn't start subsiding within a couple of days, I would request you to see a dermatologist.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
Take care.
Patient replied :
Mupirocin is a prescription that I can't easily get in the U.S., it would take me about 2 weeks. Can I use Cortisporin or Cloderm instead?
Also can this bacterial infection by spread via sexual activity?
Thank you so much for the good news. You are wonderful and amazing. Whomever you are dating/married to is a very lucky person. Thank you again!
Hello, Thank you for the appreciation.
You can use neosporin cream instead of mupirocin cream.
It could very rarely spread due to sexual activity.
It could be secondary due to shaving of that area.

Ok, how about just.. Can this bacterial infection spread via sexual activity? I still don't know where I will get Mupirocin but I will work on it. Might take 2 weeks to get it shipped without an RX.
