Resolved question:
Hi. I was diagnosed with mild proteinuria three years old patientago. I was a
505 and change into blood pressure meds and some diet I am around .30
In August I had a Life Insurance blood and urine exam and
my Creatine level was 0.9.
After closing our Summerhome and drinking a lot of beer I had
a yearly blood test with my GP. Today my wife had hers and he told
her that my Creatine (not totally sure which) was 606.
In two months is this jump even possible?

Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I understand your concern.
Firstly a creatinine value of 606 is unheard of, whether it is serum (blood) creatinine or urinary creatinine.
The normal range for serum creatinine (serum) is between Creatinine (serum) is 50-110 µmol/L or 0.6-1.2 mg/dL. Even if we say that your value was µmol, such a high reading is not possible in your case without any symptoms. Also the fact that your value two months ago was 0.9 mg/dL suggests that what you heard was not right.
A value of serum creatinine above 1.5 mg/dL will cause a variety of symptoms like facial puffiness, nausea, vomiting, swelling of the lower limbs. Even if we say the value was 6 and not 606, you would have been in distress and in need of dialysis.
Urinary creatinine values also do not record a value in 600s as the normal range is 8.8-17.6 mmol/d or 1.0-2.0 g/24h.
So in all probability 606 is not your serum creatinine value.
However, you still need to express caution as proteinuria, blood in the urine (also called hematuria) and increased creatinine in the blood are all markers of kidney dysfunction.
You did not mention about the amount of protein in the urine earlier.
Above normal proteinuria indicates kidney dysfunction. The more the proteinuria the more the renal(kidney) dysfunction.
Creatinine need not be elevated till certain amount of damage takes place in kidneys. Hence creatinine is not early marker of kidney dysfunction. So it is better not to depend on creatinine alone while commenting about kidney function.
It is best to get back to your GP to get your correct results.
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have further queries.
Regards.
