Resolved question:
I am 32 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins, I was 2cm dilated but not very effaced in my Doctors terms at my last appointment which was 3 days ago. I was put on bed rest and given celestone injections 24 hours apart 2 and 3 days ago, and since yesterday I have been having what feels like strong Braxton hicks contractions every 4-5 hours and feeling really dehydrated. Well today when I woke up my breast are engorged, this was not present yesterday.. The nurse at my Dr. Office is telling me to put warm compresses on my breast and the Dr will contact me on Monday. But wouldn't warm compresses expelling the milk cause uterine contractions, is breast engorgment normal for me to be only 32 weeks pregnant? Should I not be concerned?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
Breast engorgement is not common as such until after childbirth.
Rarely it happens during pregnancy also, at 32 weeks, it MIGHT indicate a risk for preterm labour.
However, you have to put warm compresses on it, untreated breast engorgement might lead to breast abscess ( infection ).
Please stay well hydrated, dehydration itself predisposes to preterm labour.
Celestone ( steroid ) shots in itself is a factor that might have caused milk let down.
Do not worry, take rest.
Avoid stress, intercourse and any triggers such as jerky long distance travelling etc.
Do put the hot compresses and a tight breast bandage.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.
