Resolved question:
I have been dealing with ovarian cysts now for a few months. Recent report said I had several follecules on my right ovary and a complex cyst (most likely hemorrhagic cyst) on my left ovary. They put me on birth control pills 1 month ago but pain is bad on my right side. I have an appointment in 2 months for a follow up but I don't think I can wait that long. I called my doc but she said this is normal and to keep taking my pills. She doesn't seem concerned. I also have really bad bloating and tender breasts. Do I wait?

Hello
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
The haemorrhagic cyst could be causing you the pain.
Is it possible to upload the scan report?
That would give me a better idea.
Also, the birth control pills have to be taken for 2 months, sometimes they lead to regression of the cysts.
The bloating and breast tenderness are due to the polycystic ovaries.
If the pain is unmanageable, surgical intervention may be tried, but mainly, oral medications should resolve the issue.
Also, you can take painkillers if the pain is very severe.
I would like to look at the scan report, please upload it.
What is your age?
Are your periods regular?
What is your height and weight?
Have you had children before?
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
I am 32 years old, no periods for 6 years now (Mirena). I am 5'4" and 130 pounds. I also have 3 kids. This is the report I got from my doctor.
The side effects ( bloating and breast tenderness ) could be due to the Mirena.
I need to look at the images and the report to really opine about the pain.
You could take painkillers for that.
Taking birth control pills on top of the Mirena would really add to the hormonal side effects.
Regards.

Final resu
The hemorrhagic cyst could be causing the pain.
But that should be resolved by painkillers, and should not last for more than a few days.
A repeat scan would show that the cyst has resolved.
