Bleeding during sex when off pill. Affect getting pregnant?

Resolved Question:

I am currently trying for a baby. I have been off the pill for 4 months and have noticed over the past 3
Months every time I have sex I bleed during and after sex but not enough to wear a pad. I went to the doctor today who looked at my cervix and she couldn't see anything wrong. She took swabs and will get back to me in a weeks time. I forgot to ask if this could affect me getting pregnant. Could you enlightening me as I'm beginning to feel down about waiting to ask the question in a weeks time. Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
What you are experiencing is post coital bleeding.
Basically, after coming off the pill, you might experience some off and on spotting, but yours seems to occur each time with intercourse.
That makes it worrisome.
Common conditions causing such a picture are - cervical / uterine polyp, cervical infection, cervical growth / lesion, a foreign body etc.
Some of them might affect your chances of conception, but most are easily treated.
Here is a comprehensive workup you need -
1. Internal evaluation by a Specialist OB - GYN
2. Pap smear
3. Vaginal swab for culture.
4. Pelvic ultrasound scan.
Please get these done at the earliest so you know what you are dealing with.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.

Thank you.
My gp has taken swabs and then if they come back without any infections. Then I will be refered to the hospital. Is is at the hospital where they will do the above tests? Also do you think the bleeding could have anything to do with sexual positions or maybe not having slow sexual inter course?

Hello,
Sexual position / rough sex would not cause bleeding after sex EVERYTIME.
The above tests are conducted by a specialist, yes.
Among them, if I had to rank them between 1 - 4, the vaginal swab is the least important.
So please get the remaining tests done, and then you can revert.
Take care.
