Asymptomatic bradycardia

Resolved question:
I have always had a low resting heartrate, but now its 48-52. I have been running around 15-18 miles a week. My heartrate will elevate like it should, like if i climb a flight of stairs or something, but within a minute or two of sitting its back to 48-52. If I just have a lazy day and do nothing it stays that way. My blood pressure is fine. Could this heartrate be normal?? I also consume no caffiene and try not to eat refined sugar. I eat very healthy. I have just been feeling anxious about this low resting heartrate.

Hello,

Thank you for your query at doctorspring.com.

A low heart rate is common in people who are accustomed to physical exertion.
Since you run around 15 to 18 miles every week you are physicaly well trained. You do not have any symptoms even if your heart rate is low. Also your heart rate increases normally with exercise. Search asymptomatic bradycardia, it needs no further medical investigation.

Hope this helps, would be glad to answer any follow-ups, clarifications.
