Does 500mg twice a day of amoxcillin for 10 days cure chlamydia. Or should I got back to doctor for better options. Also how long after my prescribe should I get retested.

Amoxycillin is a good drug for treating Chalmydia. However I would not say it is the best drug. But there is no need to change the medication. Just make sure you are taking it without any break for the complete duration. (even if there are no symptoms. ) This is very important.
There are two different strategies for testing for chlamydia after treatment including “test of cure”, which is performed usually within four to six weeks of treatment, or “retesting”, which is performed approximately three to six months after treatment of infection.
You can go for both testings.

So after my prescribes are over how long after should i want to get tested?
Once the prescription is over you should wait a minimum of 4 weeks for retesting. In between 4-6 weeks is fine.
The only exception is in the rare case if you have symptoms even after finishing the course of antibiotics.
Your partner might also require treatment.
