Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
The pancreatitis you suffered from was due to gallstones and it is called biliary pancreatitis. You are prone for more such attacks as gallbladder is the source of such stones.
So it is better to remove the gallbladder to prevent such attacks of pancreatitis in the future.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
Patient replied :
Sir, but the doctor who diagnosed me...also told me that...there was not a full grown gall stone inside the gall bladder...
In this case also is it neccesary to undergo surgery or is there any other possible treatment like medicines and all.
I have attached cect reports as well as ultrasound report.
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me with more questions.
It is the smaller and not fully formed stones that can move easily in the bile duct and can cause biliary pancreatitis.
It is the gallbladder where these are formed.
Since you already had an attack of pancreatitis it is better to remove the gallbladder.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Yestrday once again i had severe pain. I checked my lipase and amylase.
Lipase : 2133
Amylase : 1136
I am planning to go for surgery after a month. What should i take in between so that i dnt have to suffer pain again.
and is this all happening because of sleeve gastrectomy ?
Hi,
You suffered another attack of biliary pancreatitis.
And as suggested getting the gallbladder out is the most prudent thing to do.
You can take Udiliv 300 mg twice a day till surgery is done.
You can take ultracet when you get pain.
Sleeve gastrectomy may not be the reason.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Patient replied :
How will be life after gall bladder removal...? Will i be able to eat fatty foods ? Is this normal to have gall stones at such a early age of 25 ?
Will the pancretitis gets solved after this?
Hi,
Life after gallbladder removal will be normal only.
You would be able to eat fatty foods.
Bile required for digestion of fatty food is secreted by the liver. So even after removal of gallbladder, bile secretion will continue and there will not be any issue with regards to digestion of fatty food.
Yes you can have gallstones at the age of 25.
There are many different causes of pancreatitis. Gallstone disease is just one of the causes.
If gallbladder is removed and if the common bile duct does not have any stones, then you may not develop pancreatitis due to gallstone disease.
I hope that answers your query.
