I burp all the time i always feel overly full amd severely bloated shortness of breath fatigue etc im a mechanic so im constantly moving and doing things. Last night i ate an ice pop before bed and woke up a few hours later with severe stomach pain and cramps in my upper abdomen i ate a few tums and it made it start to go away enough to where i could go back to sleep but i woke up this morning with my stomach feeling weak and nauseous in that same spot

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
For effective control of acid reflux symptoms, in addition to medications you need to make some lifestyle and dietary changes also.
You can take Nexium once daily before breakfast.
The following lifestyle and dietary advice should be done -
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoid alcohol and smoking ( if you have these habits).
3. Avoid coffee, citrus, chocolates, fatty food, tomatoes and citrus
4. Avoid bedtime snacks. Go to bed at least 2-3 hours after food.
You have abdominal bloating also. You can take prokinetic medications like Levosulpiride.
You have mentioned hydrogen breath test.
If urea breath test ( done for H.pylori infection) is not done already, you can get it done.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
Yes i have already had a breath test done the doctor said it showed that i have a delayed hydrogen peak but he did not explain to me what that meant he just told me to take probiotics daily which i have been doin for months now and im still having all these problems
Hi,
Hydrogen breath test is used to diagnose lactose intolerance (abnormal digestion of sugar) and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.
If you could give the full details of your hydrogen breath test, I can interpret it for you.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
