Hi, I am a 36 year old female with a history of Crohn's Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). For the past month, I have been experiencing moderate-to-severe abdominal pain with some diarrhea after eating a large meal. This usually happens within 30 minutes to 2 hours after the meal. I also have been experiencing some moderate abdominal pain and diarrhea at other times, but I can't find a pattern to it. I have not had any noticeable blood in the stool. Could this be a Crohn's flare up or something else?
Medications: Imuran, Allopurinol (used with Imuran to control Crohn's), Ortho Evra birth control patch

I went through your post about Crohn's disease. The symptoms you have mentioned can occur in both Crohn's disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
So it is difficult to say whether it is a flare up of Crohn's disease or just irritable bowel syndrome without doing certain tests.
Fecal calprotectin test may be done. If its level is increased, then the symptoms you have is due to a flare up of Crohn's disease.
