It is equivalent to measuring the heart rate. These are nothing but pressure generated by the heart. In your question, you have mentioned that your pulses show 2 pulses a time, then a pause and again 2 pulses and a pause. This condition is usually seen in patients with Aortic valve disease, where two pulses to each heart beat instead of one. This phenomenon is known as Pulsus bisferiens.I would suggest you to get an ECG done and also meet with the Cardiologist so he get evaluate you further.
