BIOGRAPHY
A Midwestern Upbringing
Dr. Lindsey Mcilvena was born and raised in the small town of Joplin, Missouri, and spent the first 18 years of my life there, before attending medical school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine.
West-Coast Training
Dr. Lindsey Mcilvena graduated from medical school in 2009, taking a year sabbatical before starting my medical internship in the combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program at Banner Good Samaritan/Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona. On completion of my internship, I transferred into the Preventive Medicine Residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California. During residency there, I completed my Masters in Public Health degree, a comprehensive course in Medical Acupuncture, and training in Lifestyle Medicine.
The Body Can Heal Itself
Dr. Lindsey Mcilvena professional interests lie in the fields of Preventive Medicine, Integrative and Holistic Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Lindsey Mcilvena wholly believe in the body’s ability to heal itself, and I live this belief every day.
In Dr. Lindsey Mcilvena personal life, she enjoy hiking, biking, and taking long walks on the beach with my husband Dave. I am passionate about plant-based cooking – I find preparing tasty meals to be both rewarding and creatively stimulating.
To stay balanced (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually), she walk, practice yoga, and do simple meditations on a daily basis.
she have two cats, Mu and Wu, who are now twelve years old; we have been together since medical school and they have lived in three states with me.
