Resolved question:
I am a teen girl. I have had violent dreams in the past couple of months. They happen about once a month, usually coming two in one night when they do come. One of these times I had a dream I was looking at my reflection. My reflection came out of the mirror and started to choke me, and I could feel the air leaving me. When I woke up, I was choking myself. Incase you were wondering, I do not have any thoughts of self harm. Another time I had a dream I was in the bottom of the ocean, and I was peaceful until I went to come up for air and found I was changed to the ocean floor. I was struggling and losing my breath when I woke up, and found myself blue in the face because Id been holding my breath. Other times, I've woken up crying and screaming, or scratching myself and waking up with welts from scratching so hard on my arms and legs, I've woken up feeling like my feet had been cut with glass because I had a dream I was walking on broken glass. I was wondering what you think this is, and what someone can do if I wake up like this. I don't want to go to my mom, my friend said I can call her but she doesn't know how to comfort me. What I'd really like to know is- What can I tell her to make waking up easier for me? And Should I see a doctor?

Hello,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms.
There are two possibilities to consider- a sleep disorder such as night terrors and a seizure disorder.
This can be clarified by tests such as sleep studies and electroencephalography. You can get the tests done and upload the reports, based on that i can guide you further.
There is no need to worry as it can be treated with simple medications.
Feel free to discuss further,
Best wishes,
