Resolved question:
Dear Doctor,
I am suffering from unique kind of cough & cold since last 3-4 months. I would like to describe in details- as I use Air Conditioner at night time for sleep. Whenever I woke up in the morning, it starts sneezing with running nose continuously for 4-5 hours, the time squeezes some day for 2-3 hours. I feel some kind of itching in my nose in the period and when I use to touch my nose, sneezing becomes regular with a small amount of cough. Entire process is very irritating.
Second major changes occurred that I lost my Taste Buds. I am totally unable to smell any odor equally unable to feel taste of any thing on my tongue except sweet-sour & salty.
I have consult some doctors and they suggest simply to take some anti-allergic at night.
Kindly advise.

I can understand your problem.
You are suffering from allergic rhinitis( nasal allergy)
it can be due to temperature change or due to many indoor allergen including dust mite, fungus in damp area, cockroach, mosquito, pollen or pets etc.
We can start following medication -
Mometasone ( metaspray) nasal spray one spray in each nostril two times daily for 3 months
Monteleukast 10mg + levocetrizine 5 mg ( montair- LC) one in night for 10 days
Avoidance of allergen is an effective measure , but it is difficult practically.
If you are still symptomatic an allergy skin test can be done to identify allergen.
Your loss of taste sensation may be due to loss of smell due to nose block partly due to dry mouth due to mouth breathing.

I do not use mouth breathing nor my mouth is dry, would you like to explain more about the loss of smell and taste sensation.

Hello.
Loss of smell may be due to nose block.
Area for smell (olfactory area) is at the roof of the nose. Minimal obstruction to this area even without a full nose block may cause loss of smell.
To know more details a CT PNS (paranasal sinuses) can be done to rule out any aassociated nasal polyp or sinusitis or any other anatomical obstruction.

After 2 week if no symptomatic improvement then do CT PNS(paranasal sinus )

Hello.
Thank you for the follow up.
It is due to the dryness of the tongue that is one of the common side effects of anti histaminic drugs.
If you're feeling better now you can stop the drug.
Once you stop, the taste sensation will be normal within 1-2 days.
