Resolved question:
I'm on the pill (Orsynthia) and take it regularly (between 7 and 10pm every night), although I missed the last pill of the pack last month because I lost the package. It's the only form of birth control my fiance and I use. This month, I took the last pill of my pack on Saturday 10/11 and expected to start my period Tuesday 10/14.
Last week, starting on Wednesday 10/8, I had some very light spotting, a very light brown discharge with a small amount of red and some cramping in my pelvic area similar to period cramps. This continued off and on until yesterday 10/14, when I normally would've started my period but now there's nothing. I also had UTI symptoms early last week that went away on their own after a day by taking D-Mannose powder. For ending my active pills on Saturday, I would normally have my period Tuesday-Friday (although it's always pretty light), but now I seem to not be getting it unless it came early last week as the light spotting. I took a pregnancy test on Friday 10/10 that was negative...could I be pregnant or do my symptoms indicate something else?
Thank you!
Caroline I.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I need a few details before i can guide you further.
Since how long have you been on thy the pill ? And have you ever experienced any spotting or bleeding out of the normal ?
What is your height and weight ?
Once you provide these details, i will get back to you.
Regards.
I've been on the pill for about 5 years. I've never experienced any spotting or bleeding between periods that I've noticed except for once or twice a couple years old patientago when I tried to "skip" my period by going straight to the next pack of active pills and had spotting for a couple weeks. Also maybe worth mentioning my period has always been light and short (3-5 days) but over the 6 months or so it's been slightly lighter. This time it started out as a very light brown discharge and then had some red in it a couple days later, but it was much lighter than a period and looked different.
I'm 24 years old patientold, 5'3 and 120 pounds
Hello again,
Do not worry. An occasional deviant period is sometimes normal while on the pill.
Just repeat the pregnancy test and if it is negative, relax.
Continue taking the rest of the pills as normal, without missing a single pill.
Take care.
