Resolved question:
For about 5 or 6 days I've had a sore throat that comes and goes. I also have a cough that is mostly at night. About 2 days ago I noticed it was also uncomfortable to urinate, it feels like pressure with slight pain. Then this morning I woke up with one eye crusted over. I used some pink eye medicine i had left over from last time I had it and that seems to have worked. I wanted to check to see if the sore throat, cough and uncomfortable urinating could be an infection.
Update: I just urinated and the pain seems to be getting slightly worse, feels like a burning.

I understand your concern.
If the sore throat has persisted for the last 5-6 days and you have developed cough, it is definitely due to Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. Do you have any fever? The viral infection normally stays for 3-4 days at a stretch disappears. Only when you have a bacterial infection superimposed, it persists and hence it takes time for it to clear up. I want you to start saline water gargling at least 3-4 times a day, make sure you add a pinch of salt to your warm water before you gargle.
Now coming to your urine, if it is burning and paining it signifies some active inflammation in your tract. That can only happen due to infection, in an otherwise healthy individual. Though both the infections ae unrelated, but sometimes during one infection, chances of getting other infections also increases due to weakened immune system. I will advise you to drink a lot of cranberry juice which will help in making your urine more alkaline and hence the pain will slwoly subside. Again the crusting in eye can be due to a local infection. You have already applied medicine, if it doesn't subside let me know.
I will advise you a medicine that can take care of both the infections at once. But it is better before starting the medicine you give your urine for routine sampling, and also for culture to see which organism has been growing. In case you do it after taking the medicine, it won't show the organism. Hence if possible give your urine sample fo routine and culture and then start the medicine :
1) Tab. Amoxycillin + Clavulanic Acid 650 mg ( it is a combination drug, works well for both throat as well as utis ) twice a day for 7 days after food.
2) Tab. Urispas can be taken twice a day after food, this will relieve the burning and the pain while passing urine.
Continue this for a couple of days, and let me know the status after taking the medicine.
